WiRē Team member Patty Champ was invited to present and share insights about WiRē projects conducted in Northern Colorado (Genesee, Estes Valley, and St. Vrain Watershed) to The Northern Colorado Fireshed Collaborative in December 2025. This presentation included research insights and survey data results related to:
- Parcel-level wildfire risk, including differences between perspectives of wildfire professionals and residents
- A series of “nudge” experiments that leveraged parcel risk assessment data to encourage residents to learn more about risk on their properties
- Acceptability of different types of fuels treatments on nearby public lands
Patty’s presentation was well received by representatives from federal, state and local natural resource agencies, non-profits, community groups, and researchers.
