Latest data reports highlight findings from three counties in southwestern Colorado

Our research demonstrates that each community has its own unique relationship with wildfire. Accordingly, our approach emphasizes collecting community-specific data to develop an understanding of each community’s unique characteristics and needs. In 2015, the Wildfire Research (WiRē) Team worked with FireWise of Southwest Colorado (now Wildfire Adapted Partnership) to help them better understand residents’ perceptions about wildfire risk and perspectives on wildfire risk mitigation activities. Reports describing the study and statistically significant results were recently published for each of the three counties in this study. These reports (and other community-specific case reports) can be found on the WiRē website.
